Want to be a reviewer?

If, by the way, you want to do “proper” reviews (or improper reviews), then you can register here at edinburghfestival.org to be an contributor.

Your contributions will be checked before publication, and may be edited, amended or rejected at the sole discretion of the site owners, but your career could take a turn for the better if you have got some talent. Or not. But there’s only one way to find out. No pay, but good exposure.

Nobody is going to let you in to a show for free unless you are very good at blagging, but you’ll get an audience for your work (which is more than some shows get, mah leetle darleengs).

You can send your reviews from any computer with web access – you don’t need any software – you get all you need from a web browser. If you can use WordPress, you have an advantage. If not, relax – it’s easy.

We have even set up a resource for blogging by email, so you can review from your phone, and condemn a show in detail before the curtain’s even fallen on the opening night. If you are puffing a show for your luvvie pals, be aware that people can respond to a review. So if something truly sucks, the truth will out. Artistic vendettas and art riots are all welcomed – especially with photos…

Wallop what a picture, what a photograph…

We also like photographs, and you can add these to reviews easily. You need to have the subject’s permission, and be the photographer, in order to add content, however. And no naughty pictures of your privates – or anyone else’s, thank you. We’ll just pull anything dodgy, and we are the sole judge, period.

Enjoy yourself. It’s the Edinburgh Festival.
